Elizabeth MarcelenaI don’t wear deodorant anymore.
There…I said it 😜
And if you had told me 10 years ago that I’d be saying that… I would have laughed.
But here’s the thing — it’s not because I’m trying to be extreme or prove a point.
It’s because over the last decade, I slowly started cleaning up our life.
Not perfectly.
Not overnight.
Just one decision at a time.
I eliminated seed oils.
I cut out ultra-processed foods.
I removed artificial sweeteners, dyes, and preservatives.
I quit alcohol.
I started prioritizing high-quality, pasture-raised animal protein.
I balanced my minerals and focused on hydration.
I began strength training and walking daily.
I supported my lymphatic system with sauna, dry brushing, and cold exposure.
I prioritized 7–9 hours of sleep.
I started getting morning sunlight.
I worked on my nervous system through breathwork and prayer.
I removed endocrine disruptors from our home.
I stopped wearing perfume.
I switched to non-toxic skincare and makeup.
I replaced plastic with glass.
I stopped using plug-in fragrances.
I chose non-toxic cookware.
I eliminated toxic relationships.
And somewhere in that journey… my body changed.
My hormones stabilized.
My energy leveled out.
And yes — even my body odor shifted.
This isn’t about being “crunchy enough.”
It’s not about judging anyone else.
It’s about lowering our toxic load as moms so we can feel steady, strong, and present for the little humans who rely on us.
Motherhood already asks so much of our bodies.
I just decided to start supporting mine.
If you’re on a similar journey — even if you’re just at the beginning — I see you 🤍
